Hold Up the Light
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Feb 5 2012)
Series: Hold Up the Light
As we live in this dark world there is only one thing that will make a difference, The Light. The Lord has made us the light of the world. When Christ left and the Holy Spirit came He gave us that responsibility. The big question is are we being the light of the world? Are we fulfilling our responsibility to Christ? Does the world see our Heavenly Father in all His wonder and glory in our lives? In this passage we will see our duty and be challenged to see it done.
The God Who Gives Breath
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Jan 29 2012)
Series: The Breath of Life
In Athens the Apostle Paul found an alter to "The Unknown God". He took the opportunity to show the Athenians just who this God is. He is the one true God and it is He who breathes His breath into our lives. Are we living in light of this breath? Paul had a proper view of God, and he preached this God to them.
The Quickening
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Jan 22 2012)
Series: The Breath of Life
Life is a gift from the Lord and it is not ours to give or take away. In this passage Ezekiel witnesses the power of the Breath of God. Those dry bones were made to live again. If God can do so much with a valley of dead men's bones then think what He can accomplish with us if we would submit to His will
Borrowed Breath
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Jan 15 2012)
Series: The Breath of Life
As we continue you this series on the Breath of Life, we come to this passage of scripture that warns us about using borrowed breath. That is, are we trusting in the creation rather than the creator. Do we allow our own thinking or that of others to determine our choices, or are we following God's plan for our lives and accomplishing it through His power? We must not operate on borrowed breath.
It Will Take Your Breath Away
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Jan 8 2012)
Series: The Breath of Life
Have you ever had your breath taken away? Maybe a beautiful view of God's creation or a horrific accident. There are two different ways that we can have our breath taken away. It can be either God revealing his will for us or His judgement on us when we do not follow it. One way or another it will take our breath away.
Good Breath
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Jan 1 2012)
Series: The Breath of Life
There is one thing about man that is different about humans than animals. We are the only part of God's creation into which He breathed the breath of life. We are special to Him. God mad all the other parts of creation for our benefit. We are to have dominion over all the earth and the creatures in it. We need God's renewing breath again to energize all the efforts that we put forth for Him.
God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Dec 25 2011)
Series: Christmas Sermon Series
There was one man who was waiting to hear of the Messiah's birth and he was finally able to see the one thing that he wanted to see before his death. Simeon was holding on to life for the singular purpose of seeing the Christ child. He could die in peace now that he had met Christ. Isn't it still true today that we can be peaceful in death because we have met Christ.
There's a Song in the Air
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Dec 18 2011)
Series: Christmas Sermon Series
On that glorious night when our Savior was born there was a song in the air! The angels from Heaven came to announce the birth of Christ to the world, and they did it through some lowley shepherds. Those shepherds had a wake-up call they would never forget. In our lives we should be acting like the angels and announcing to the world that there is a Savior and he is in the world today.
Good Christian Men, Rejoice
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Dec 11 2011)
Series: Christmas Sermon Series
Oh, we should all be rejoicing at how the Lord has made a difference in our lives, but there are those with rather compelling and dramatic testimonies. Those that made others think that they could not possibly be used of God. How the Lord has a way of using the "unusable". As we think of the sacrifice that Christ made for us we can rejoice with all the others, no matter what the background.
We Wish You a Mary Christmas
by Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh (Dec 4 2011)
Series: Christmas Sermon Series
As we begin to look at the Christmas season we see Mary and how she reacted to God's amazing gift and her role in it. We can see how God provides for every circumstance that He allows to come into our lives. It is through His person that we can make it through life. It is only who God is and His performance in our lives that makes a difference.
