A Feast in the Wilderness
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/15/10)
By trusting in the promises of God, God's people can enjoy a feast even in the wilderness. Just because we are going through difficult times doesn't mean we can't possess joy and peace in the process. Dr. William Jeffcoat reminds us to enjoy the feast of God's faithfulness and forgiveness.
The Power of the Lord was Present to Heal Them
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/14/10)
When people gathered round to see the Lord heal the man who was brought to Jesus by his four friends, they marvelled at what they saw. They were amazed at the "strange" things they saw that day. However, the Bible says that the power of the Lord was present to heal them, meaning the Pharisees and doctors of the law. They were wanting to watch God work in other people, when God really wanted to do a work in them.
The Testimony of the Leper
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/13/10)
There was a proper Old Testament procedure to follow when a leper came to the temple to declare a cleansing. The only problem was that an actual occurance of this procedure is not recorded in the Scriptures. Using a passage in Luke 5 and Leviticus 14, Dr. William Jeffcoat preaches on the testimony of the leper. He stresses the importance of expecting God to still save even the vilest of sinners. The testimony of the leper reminds us that God still heals the most broken among us.
Rumor or Reality
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/12/10)
In several passages, the Bible tells us that because of Jesus did, His fame spread abroad in all the land. People were hearing about the amazing things He did. But soon, fame turned into rumor as people began to be less interested in the past. We must not rest in past successes, but rather work to make God's miraculous working a reality in the present. Is Jesus a rumor or reality?
My Expectation is from the Lord
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/11/10)
It is amazing how quickly circumstances can alter our expectations for the day. We have plans, and when those plans change, we lose our joy and trust in the Lord. The psalmist says that his expectation is from the Lord, and therefore never changes. Our hope and confidence must be in Christ, and we need to start expecting Him to do great things.
The Fall of Gehazi
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/10/10)
Gehazi was the right-hand mand of the prophet Elisha. He committed sin and ruined his usefulness in God's work. But, upon his repentance and restoration, he was able to begin new chapter in his life. Later in the book of 2 Kings, we see that God again uses Gehazi in His work. If you have failed, just begin a new chapter for God. God is not done with you yet.
When God Interrupts
by Dr. William Jeffcoat (10/10/10)
It's hard to put up with constant interruptions. As Revelation points out to us, God is standing at the door of our hearts wanting to come in. For Him to come in, He's going to have to interrupt what we are doing. This message, preached by Dr. William Jeffcoat at the 2010 Fall Revival, is about six amazing things that happen when God interrupts our schedule.
