CURRICULUM
We offer a college preparatory program using mostly the A Beka Curriculum. We also offer choir and computer classes. Spanish is offered in the high school. We are a member of the American Association of Christian Schools and the Georgia Association of Christian Schools. Our students score average to above average on the SAT and ACT college entrance exams.
SPIRITUAL
For the junior high and high school, we have chapel every Wednesday and Friday, and have Bible classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We have yearly opening school revivals, and an annual school retreat weekend for spiritual enrichment. The elementary grades have chapel on Wednesdays and Fridays.
FINE ARTS
We offer limited music and speech instruction for junior high and high school. Individuals as well as groups compete each year at the AACS fine arts competition.
PHYSICAL
Supervised playground activities, P.E. classes for grades K4 - 12, elementary field days, and interscholastic sports through the Georgia Christian Athletic Association for grades 7-12 are all ways we balance our program with physical exercise. This includes Volleyball, Cheerleading, Boy's and Girl's Basketball, Baseball, and Softball.
FACILITIES
Our facilities at GCS are modern and in full compliance with all safety requirements. Our property is located on 14th Avenue just off Warm Springs Road about 5 miles from I-185.
DRESS CODE
We require uniforms at GCS, and we do encourage modest apparel. A complete list of the dress requirements is available in the handbook in the Student Resources section on this website.
DISCIPLINE
We believe that discipline is an important part of the training we offer at GCS. Without discipline, learning is impossible. We employ consistent methods of positive reinforcement to ensure proper behavior.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
All parents are required to attend an interview with our administrator, Pastor Jeff Amsbaugh. During this process, we cover policies and answer questions about our program.
GCS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities
